| Great fun is to be had at Pinewood
during the summer months. Weekly day camps are available
to any child 8-18 years of age. Our 5 day camps run Monday
through Friday 8am until 3pm and are packed with activities and
fun. Groups are split according to their level of
experience and are assigned to an instructor. The day
begins with students catching and bringing in the horses that
they will be riding, grooming and tacking for their riding
session. Content of the riding session is geared to the
experience of each group and will generally be an hour to an
hour and a half in duration. After cooling out, un-tacking
and putting their horses up students are ready to change out of
their riding clothes into something cooler and take a break for
a while with a drink and a snack. Then it is time for an
hour of instruction in horse care and fun things to learn, a
wide range of subjects are covered and will vary, from group to
group and according to age and experience, this will take us to
lunch time. Students bring a packed lunch and hang out for a
while in the break-room or under a shady tree. |

| We have our own in-ground pool
at the farm and after lunch everyone changes and we head for the pool
yard for fun and games in the water for a few hours.
Fridays
are gymkhana days, the highlight of the week, campers are divided into teams and
the morning is spent doing games and races on horseback, followed by a pizza
party at the pool and lots of horseplay in the water. Campers are well
supervised at all times. Many of our campers come back year after year, we
always try to keep thing fresh, there is always
something
new to learn, a new level to aspire to and plenty of fun to go around.
